The Langstoon HOA Board met on July 15, 2026. Below is a resident-friendly summary of the main topics discussed and current follow-up items.

Communication and Website Updates
The Board discussed the importance of improving communication with neighbors about HOA updates, common area concerns, dues reminders, architectural information, and neighborhood events.
The HOA website, Langstoon.com, has been soft-launched. The site is intended to become a central place for residents and new neighbors to find basic HOA information, forms, governing documents, architectural guidance, and community updates. The Board will continue refining the site and will be careful about what information is posted publicly.
Residents may also see reminders to update their contact information. Current contact information helps the HOA communicate more effectively and keep the neighborhood directory accurate.
New Neighbor and Real Estate Communication
The Board discussed improving the process for when homes are sold and when new neighbors move in. The goal is to make sure new residents receive welcome information and know how to contact the HOA.
Architectural Information
The Board is reviewing draft architectural reference materials based on the HOA's existing governing documents, color information, and architectural standards. Once reviewed, these materials should help residents more easily understand common exterior requirements, such as approved colors and when HOA review may be needed.
Landscaping and Common Area Maintenance
The Board reviewed the current landscaping contract and discussed common area maintenance expectations. The current landscaping agreement has been extended through the end of 2026 so future contracts can align with the calendar year.
The Board will be reviewing the landscaper's responsibilities, walking common areas with the landscaping company, and preparing for a 2027 request-for-proposal process. This should help ensure the HOA is receiving the services required under the contract and allow the Board to compare options for next year.
Common Area Tree Review
The Board discussed a resident concern about trees near Kincaid Court. Before deciding what work, if any, is needed, the Board will confirm whether the trees are located on HOA common area or private property. A survey will be scheduled so responsibility can be determined accurately. Additional tree/arborist review may follow if needed.
Dues and Contact Reminders
The Treasurer reported that dues collection from the prior year has improved significantly. The Board also discussed sending an email reminder about current-year dues after more resident email/contact updates are received.

Social Committee and Block Party
Morgan Goldwater has volunteered to serve as Social Committee Chair and is working with volunteers to help bring back the neighborhood block party.
The tentative block party date is Saturday, September 26, 2026, with a rain date of Sunday, September 27, 2026. More details will be shared once planning is further along.
The Board also discussed interest in possible future social opportunities for adults and new neighbors to meet each other.
